It was MOT day today and all went well. A tiny bit of movement in the wishbones and the rear brakes lines need some sanding but everything else tippy-top - not bad for a 19 year old. Whilst she was being tested and with a couple of hours to while away, I went for a stroll in Cambourne. Equipped with a picnic I then sat beside the road on a lovely grassy verge to enjoy the sun and consider the world (oddly there are no public benches in Cambourne - weird).
In the 45 minutes I was there, two separate cars stopped to ask if I was OK. This made me think.
1) Either Cambourne is such a depressing (and car oriented) place that anyone sitting on the grass is considered a suicide risk,
2) Or a positive change of the corona-era is that everyone is more caring, more thoughtful and more engaged in the cause of collective well being,
3) Or I have such a miserable face that people couldn't believe that I wasn't OK.
Either way, you decide. But it did make me think that a mental MOT once in a while must also be a good thing.
